The cornerstone of the transitional services at Oak Arbor is the time spent working with residents to establish a solid
recovery program
that allows for increasing independence. The four-phase treatment program allows for step-by-step recovery at the individualized pace of each client.
Phase I:
Week one of the program includes the orientation and adjustment level of treatment. The goal of this phase is stabilization with 12-step meetings, sponsorship and full-time employment.
Phase II:
In months two to three of the program, residents begin to enjoy more treatment flexibility. During this phase, clients are employed full-time, have obtained a sponsor and are more integrated in the recovery community.
Phases III & IV:
In month three and beyond, clients experience more independence. The focus of these phases continues to be on full-time employment, attendance at 12-step meetings and maintaining an ongoing relationship with a sponsor.
Aftercare:
Oak Arbor provides an aftercare program for residents. This support group meets weekly and offers former residents an opportunity to address issues related to ongoing recovery.
